Local School Council Election Day
March 18, 2026, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Did you know that you don’t need to be a parent or citizen in order to vote in all the LSC elections in your neighborhood? Each school holds its own elections on this same day, and community members are allowed to vote in multiple elections.
You will need to bring two forms of identification to vote, one of which confirms your home address or relationship to the school (as a parent, staff member or student over age 17). You can check your eligibility and learn about acceptable forms of identification here.
Unite for Our Schools — Albany Park has endorsed three candidates running in LSC races in our community. Learn more about the candidates running to serve the students of our neighborhood at Haugan Elementary and North River Elementary below.
- Phil Robarge for Community Representative at Haugan LSC (#27) and North River (#32): Having served as the pastor of Tabor Church in Albany Park for a decade, Phil has led the community through seasons of growth, challenge and revival by engaging in neighborhood partnerships and advocacy. Phil hopes to continue his long history of caring for families, students, teachers and staff by expanding on the incredible efforts already underway at Haugan and finding new ways to unite the neighborhood around the vision of an educational system where all our children can grow and thrive.
- Robert Stack III for North River LSC Community Representative (#28): A U.S. Army veteran and 14-year resident of Albany Park, Bob is passionate about advancing equitable education through collaboration, accountability and community engagement. He’s mentored and supported the educational journeys of his six nieces and nephews, all CPS students or graduates. When ICE began its raids last fall, Bob got involved with the Corner Helpers school watch and sees LSC service as an extension of his efforts to support the Albany Park community.
- Marni Willenson for Haugan LSC Community Representative (#26): Marni 25-year resident of Albany Park who believes our neighborhood children deserve more. She’s a civil rights lawyer and former CPS teacher who’s been advocating for Haugan Elementary for decades. She’s a current LSC member whose two children graduated from public schools in Chicago and are now in college.
